Vet questions from Chilliwack pet owners, answered
The questions we hear most about joining a new clinic, cost, insurance, urgent care and what to expect. If yours is not here, call us on 604-991-2745.
What do Chilliwack pet owners most often ask a new vet?
Most people want to know whether we are accepting new clients (yes), when we are open (8:00am to 8:00pm, seven days a week, from late October), what a visit will cost (you approve a written estimate first) and what to do in an urgent situation. We answer each below.
Joining us as a new client
We open in late October on Thomas Road in Chilliwack, and we are accepting new clients now. You can join the waitlist today, and our new clients page explains how the first visit works.
How often should my dog see the vet?
It depends on age and health. Puppies and kittens need a carefully timed vaccine series in their first months. Most healthy adult dogs and cats are seen for a wellness exam about once a year, and seniors or pets with ongoing conditions usually more often. We tailor the schedule to your pet.
In our veterinarians' words: One common misconception is that pets only need to see a veterinarian when they are sick. In reality, regular wellness exams and preventive care are important because pets can hide signs of illness, and early detection can make treatment much easier.

Cost, payment and pet insurance
We do not publish prices. Instead, before any procedure begins, you get a written estimate you approve. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Interac debit and cash, and financing is available through iFinance. Our payment options page covers insurance and financing in full.
Urgent problems
During our opening hours we welcome walk-ins for urgent cases and triage urgent cases as they arrive, seeing the most critical pets first. We are not a 24-hour hospital. Our emergency and urgent care page lists the signs that need prompt attention.
